LEED Statements and Documents

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and adopted by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC).

The USGBC and the CaGBC consist of a coalition of leaders across the building industry who work to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

LEED was created to:
- define 'green building' through a common standard of measurement
- stimulate green competition
- raise consumer awareness of green building benefits
- transform the building market
