ASSA ABLOY Group Brands Achieve GREENGUARD Certification

Door Group companies ensure low product emissions to protect health and aid green building efforts.

ASSA ABLOY is committed to delivering sustainable product solutions that address the growing influence of green building standards. This ongoing effort received a boost recently when The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute is announced that ASSA ABLOY Group brands CECO, CURRIES, GRAHAM and MAIMAN achieved both GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification.

“We commend ASSA ABLOY for assuming this market leadership role and for committing themselves to sustainability and the protection of human health,” said Henning Bloech, GREENGUARD’s executive director. “There’s no question that ASSA ABLOY is a visionary company whose finger is right on the pulse of the green, healthconscious marketplace. We’re thrilled to partner with them to ensure the manufacture of low-emitting products for healthier indoor environments.”

With the help of GREENGUARD Certification, door products from each of these four brands can now help building and design teams meet and exceed emissions criteria in various green building rating programs, such as LEED® and CHPS. Specifiers and purchasers can peruse these brands’ product portfolios in the free GREENGUARD Product Guide online.

“We are pleased to have worked with GREENGUARD, and delighted that we can now assure our customers that our door products meet some of the world’s toughest chemical emissions criteria,” says Aaron Smith, director of sustainable building solutions at ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions. “Our pursuit of GREENGUARD Certification showcases our indoor environmental stewardship and illustrates our promise to help others create healthier built environments.”
